It has always been my intention
to provide as much information about my stud dogs as possible
so that breeders can be informed and make wise decisions.
Please keep in mind that while I have attempted to be objective,
this is just one woman’s
opinion. So, here is everything I know about Oliver: He is right
at 16”. He is CERF normal, VWD normal, thyroid normal
and OFA excellent. He is a deep golden red with full white
markings and blaze and is white factored. He is high on leg
and very statuesque. He is an agile and athletic dog who is
very masculine in appearance. He finished easily with 4 majors
including two specialties, two specialty reserves and two Best
in Sweepstakes.
Oliver has a nice round muzzle complete with plush hair. He is
nicely filled under the eyes and no veininess. I would clean up
his lip line. He is a bit deep for me in profile. His skull is
reasonably clean on the sides. It could be slightly flatter on
the frontal bone. My personal preference is for a lighter more
refined head type but then I like a smaller dog. He has nice, well
set natural ears. His eye is nicely shaped and his expression pretty
but not exquisite. He is missing one pre molar. At this point it
appears that most of his puppies are similar to Oliver in body.
In head they look more like each other than him (see offspring
photos).
He has a lovely outline and topline and a long tail. He has a
strong rear and a decent shoulder. Nice straight front legs and
a reasonably deep chest. Feet are well shaped. He is clean both
coming and going and extends quite nicely from the side.
Oliver had a nice coat as a puppy. He, to date has not had much
adult coat. He has just turned three and appears to be coating
up. There is coat on both sides of his pedigree so I anticipate
that he will have a good coat when he matures.
He is an excellent show dog and has never really shown any fear.
He appears to have no noise sensitivity. He is non dog aggressive
and plays with dogs and puppies of all sexes and ages. Though normally
a gentle soul, Oliver has barrier aggressiveness and goes after
anything on the other side of a fence or exercise pen. He was quite
a chewer as a puppy but has since gotten over that. He is well
mannered and totally clean in the house. Oliver is affectionate
on his own terms but not particularly demonstrative and not needy.
He is sensible and easy to have around. He breeds a bitch, has
his dinner and takes a nap. He is an aggressive stud dog and breeds
most bitches naturally.
In one of his early litters there was a puppy diagnosed with
DM. Some of my vets question this as the lesions were not bi lateral
and confined mainly to the belly and anus area. It was however,
punch biopsied and confirmed so you should be aware of this. We
have since found out that the Puppy's Dam's double grand-sire was
recently diagnosed with DM.
He seems to be making puppies
with longer clean, lean heads, lovely expressions and great
outlines. Most seem to have his showy temperament and carriage.
I have yet to see a bad rear from him. Rears and fronts are
generally good but I have seen variation there. The quality
seems to be very good. The best one’s are exceptional.
I believe we may lose puppies due to size but when he hits
it they seem to be really good rather than just finishable.
Some of his get are pictured on this website. He also has a daughter
who at her first two shows took the breed over specials. A son
took winners and reserve in his first outings. Both of these were
7 months old. Another son was recently pointed as a puppy. He just
turned three so as more of a pattern emerges in his producing tendencies
I will update this page.
Oliver's stud fee is $600. $250 is due at the time of breeding
and the balance of $350 due when the bitch whelps. If there is
only one puppy, a balance of $175 is due.
Shipping is to Detroit Metro Airport . Most major airlines have
service here. I am able to go the Windsor Airport for Canadian
bitches. Though we have not yet done this I have a vet who is able
to do chilled semen.
I am aware there is some concern over my show schedule but we
have never had any difficulty accommodating bitches for stud dogs
we have had here. Our conception rate is high.
